No time for radio this weekend........

There were train tracks here at one time.
2 clicks into our walk
It seems that up this way spring has sprung early and I am not complaining at all. Today the temperatures were in the 16C range which has broken a 35 year old record. Today the sky was clear, the sun was shinning and no wind at all so it was due time to take in some nature walking. Very near to our home is a nature trail that winds
A shot of the Grand River
along the Grand river. This nature trail goes for 77 km's (we did 6 of the 77 km's) The trail is an old railroad run that was made into a nature path. Julie took her camera along the only wild life was a red tailed hawk, Cardinal and some Canada geese. The shoots on the blog were taken by me with my Iphone as we walked along. The trail is very well maintained and no motorized vehicles are permitted. In the winter it is a great cross country ski spot as well. I was scouting out some stopping areas for when I bring along my K2 possibly this summer. I did find some nice spots and will see what the summer brings!

Hello Mike, no time for radio as well here. Nice weather as well in the Netherlands sunshine and 10C. I made a fence in the garden so Anneli does not walk away when playing outside. You got some nice nature nearby, tnx for the photos. 73, Bas

Good afternoon Bas, great to hear the weather is turning warm out your way as well. Great to know Anneli is not able to play and stay in the backyard. Have a great week!

Hello Mike,
Last week was overcast. Yesterday it was sunny, so we went for a walk. 73, Bert

Good morning Bert, yes it sure was a nice day and the weather is supposed to stay this way all week....and even warmer. I did not wear a hat not thinking of the sun and got a little sun burn.

Interesting that so many parts of the world are having unusual weather this year. Here in Costa Rica (this party anyway) we are having the driest summer in memory of the folks who have lived here for decades. Since the first of the year we've barely had 1" of rain and the skies have been cloudless both day and night! That's very unusual.

Hello Mike,

I love those old RR trails. They're perfect for biking and walking. WV has several very nice ones; my favorite being the "Northbend Rails to Trails". It's about 60 miles long and has about a dozen old RR tunnels along the route. It's an interesting "google".

Good afternoon Casey, yes it seems that the weather is getting more intense as well. One inch of rain is next to nothing considering down your way there are rainy seasons!

Hello John, yes it is a very good use of land after the tracks are taken up. We did not get far enough to see any tunnels or bridges for that matter.
