Did I CAPTCHA your attention.......

Fellow blogger's I  always like to comment on blogs and give my two cents worth about a topic....BUT.....is it just me or are these darn Captcha's getting harder and harder to decipher !! I understand about security and that our comments are to come from humans and not other computers. Having said that it seems to me that some of these Captcha's one needs divine glasses to figure out the letters. At times I fool myself thinking if I look at it long enough the letters will jump out from the blurred combinations.....!  There have been "events" of me trying up to 3 (or more)combinations to get the correct letters. To add insult to injury it wasn't bad enough bending my brain around one word now most Captcha's are two words!!

I agree, they are getting to the point where they are a hassle because it usually takes several attempts due to the difficulty in reading them.

Hi Mike, sometimes I can't decipher the words for Blogger comments. Very hard sometimes. I never use Captcha's for my blog. I seldom get spam, and when I get one (2 in the last 4 years, I delete the message) simple as that. 73 Paul

I have the same problem with the Blogger captchas, in fact I was going to write about it myself. I haven't noticed any decrease in the amount of spam since the new 2-word captchas were introduced by Blogger so I don't see the point. I'd like to go back to the old ones. But I am unwilling to remove the captcha completely as I think if I did the amount of spam would go up.

Mike,

It's not just you! It's come to the point where I generally refuse to comment on a blog if if uses CAPTCHA for that very reason. And I understand well the need to limit comment spam, but it is simply too much work to add a comment... it's time for the CAPTCHA to die a rapid death.

Hi Paul, after reading your comment regarding Captcha's on the blogger system I am now wondering if I put folks through the pain when they post on my blog????

Good day Julian, I too have just noticed the two word riddles as well. The other day when I posted a comment I noticed they were offering a number BUT Im not sure why it's there as I just can't seem to get it to work. Oh and great review of the KX3 by the way!!

Top of the morning Jeff, it seem it's a common theme with all the comments that the Captcha's sure are a pain to deal with.

Hi Mike, I can post easily on your blog without any problem. 73 Paul

I've noticed the Blogger captcha's are the worst of the bunch. Many other sites use ones that only take me one try.

I did have one problem on my Dull Roar blog with "hate comments" so I turned them on for a little while, but have since taken them off. All comments show up in my e-mail, so if something weird gets through it's pretty easy to delete them before they've done much damage.

Good to hear Paul thanks...I would feel silly if my blog after what I said was one of the harder ones to post a comment on.

Good afternoon Casey, yes I have been to some that ask you now for TWO Captcha's!!! I do the same as you comments are emailed to me and I can deal with bad ones as soon as possible.

As far as I know I turned off my captcha's like you did. I sometimes do receive spam. But I can live with 2 or 3 times a month. It's much better as receiving no comments because of these ridiculous captcha pics blogger has. 73, Bas

Good evening Bas, I agree with you I want to make it a joy for people to post on the blog. As for spam I have had it now and then but if it does get posted and I don't get it down until the end of the day most readers know it's spam and do what I do and ignore it.
