Supermoon photos

Julie and I were out this evening taking pictures of the Supermoon. These were taken over Lake Ontario with Toronto peeking through the center photo. The camera was the Nikon D800 and the lenses were the 70-200mm with a 2.0 tele converter and 24-70mm lens. Not really a ham radio post but a great way to spend an August evening.

Hi Mike, nice photos. Unfortunately, we had a cloudy sky. Also tonight, so no Perseid meteors. 73 Paul

Thanks for the photos, Mike! I told my son about the Super Moon and we went outside to take a look, only to find clouds. I enjoyed it Saturday evening, though, when it was about 98% full. One thing I need to get is a DSLR. I have two film SLRs and miss using them. A really good DSLR is way beyond my budget, though. I've come a long way from the guy who used to make a living with his cameras! 73 de Larry W2LJ

Good evening Paul, it was a cloudy day here and we were not sure if all would work out. The sky cleared and at about 8pm as the sun was setting we could start to see a faint view of the moon. As the evening went on around 9pm the moon was in full view.

Thanks very much Dick, it was Julie that took them and I am in the process of learning the in's and out's of photography.

Larry very nice to hear from you, we were hoping it would be a co-operative sky for the Super Moon and it turned out to be great. Julie has the Nikon D800 and the new D810 as well. Then there are the very very nice lenses.
